South cinema star Mahesh Babu's statement 'Bollywood cannot afford him' is making headlines these days. All the celebrities including Sunil Shetty, Ram Gopal Varma, and Mukesh Bhatt are giving their reaction to this statement.
Now producer Boney Kapoor has given his opinion. Boney Kapoor has reacted to Mahesh Babu's statement while talking with 'Indian Express'.
Boney Kapoor's Reaction:
Responding to Mahesh Babu's statement, Boney Kapoor said, 'I cannot comment on this as I am associated with both Bollywood and South. I have done films in Tamil and Telugu and soon I am going to do one in Malayalam and one in Kannada.
So I am not the right person to comment on this. Mahesh Babu has the right to say whatever he feels and he probably feels that the Hindi film industry cannot afford him. They may have their own reasons for saying so.
Everyone has their own opinion and who are we to comment. I am the last person to comment on this. If they feel that way, it is good for them.
Mahesh Babu's Statement:
Mahesh Babu recently said on the question of his Bollywood debut, 'I always wanted to do Telugu films and wanted people from all over India to see it.
And now that this is happening I am very happy. I have always had a strong opinion that my strength is Telugu films and the emotion I understand is the emotion of a Telugu film. I may sound arrogant, but I have got a lot of offers in Hindi.
But I think they can't afford me. I don't want to waste my time. With the stardom and love that I have got here in Telugu cinema, I never thought of moving to another industry.
I always thought I would do films here and they would grow up, and my faith is turning into a reality now. I couldn't be happier than this.
Clarification of Mahesh Babu's Statement:
Mahesh Babu has also given clarification on his statement. He had said, 'I love cinema and respect all languages. I am comfortable working where I am doing films.
I am very happy to see that his dream is being fulfilled and that Telugu cinema is being liked.
