Breaking News: Former cricketer and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has got a setback in the 34-year-old case. In fact, the Supreme Court has sentenced Navjot Singh Sidhu to one year's rigorous imprisonment in an old Road Rage Case. In this way, the Supreme Court has changed its decision and announced the punishment.

What was the matter:
Let us inform you that on December 27, 1988 in Patiala, Navjot Singh Sidhu, while traveling in a car, clashed with an elder named Gurunam Singh and punched him. After this Gurunam Singh died in the hospital. 

After this, a case of culpable homicide was registered against Navjot Singh. Navjot Singh Sidhu was acquitted by the Lower Court in 1999 for lack of evidence. Then the matter reached the Punjab and Haryana High Court and in 2006, the High Court sentenced him to 3 years imprisonment. 

Navjot Singh Sidhu went to the Supreme Court regarding this decision. In the year 2018, the Supreme Court released him by imposing a fine of Rs 1,000. Now the Supreme Court has reversed its decision and sentenced him to one year in prison.



Navjot Singh Sidhu admitted the mistake:
It is worth noting that Navjot Singh Sidhu, in an interview given to 'India TV', had accepted the mistake regarding the road rage case and admitted that he is sad about this. Navjot Singh Sidhu said that it was not his intention to lose someone's life. In this way, he regretted his actions.
